In-store radio for shopping malls and galleries

Rádio Indoor gives your mall professional sound in every common area, from the corridors to the food court, and an announcer for events, campaigns, opening hours and lost and found. Tenant spots can turn your sound system into a source of ad revenue.

A mall's common areas are a stage

Shoppers spend a large part of their visit in the corridors, the food court, the escalators and the parking garage. These areas belong to the mall, and the way they sound says a lot about the place. Professional, well-programmed sound makes the mall feel cared for; silence or a random radio station makes it feel empty or neglected.

Common areas are also the mall's main communication channel. Events, holiday campaigns, opening hours and safety messages need to reach everyone, and posters cannot do that alone.

The challenges of a mall

How Rádio Indoor works in a mall

Describe the mall in the business profile, for example a family mall with a cinema and a busy food court, and our artificial intelligence builds playlists to match. You can also hand-build playlists, such as an upbeat mix for weekend afternoons and a lighter one for weekday mornings.

Corridors, food court and parking can each have their own device, all playing the same radio, and each device playing at once is one location. Plans cover 1, 2, 6 or 15 locations at once, and larger operations can request a custom plan through sales@radioindoor.com.

The exclusive announcer says the mall's name, gives the time and talks about what you put in its scripts: events, campaigns, opening hours, parking information. Instant announcements cover lost and found or an urgent notice: type it and it plays right away over the music, only on the device where it was typed, with the audio processor lowering the music so it is clear.

Tenant spots as ad revenue

Your tenants want foot traffic, and the common areas reach every shopper. Upload tenant ads to folders and schedule them every day, by weekday or on specific dates, at the times agreed, just as you would sell space on a banner or a digital screen. A restaurant can take the hours before lunch, a fashion store the weekend afternoons, a cinema the early evening.

Pricing and agreements are up to you. The platform simply makes sure each spot plays on the days and times you set, and you can keep a healthy balance between institutional messages, tenant ads and music.

Programming the mall's calendar

Set one opening window per weekday and the radio starts and stops with the mall.

Galleries and smaller centers

Not every center is a large mall. A gallery with a dozen shops or a strip center with a shared patio can start with one or two locations, and grow when needed. Everything runs in the browser, on a computer or a mini PC connected to the existing sound system, without new hardware.

Parking garages and entrances can have a device of their own as well, playing the same radio as the rest of the mall. Scripts about parking validation, the bus stop, the taxi area or the cinema's opening hours are useful to everyone, wherever they hear them. Updating a campaign takes a few minutes in the browser, and the change reaches every device at once. When the holiday season ends, the next folder takes over on its scheduled dates, with nobody needing to remember to switch campaigns.

Sample announcements

Holiday campaign

“The holiday campaign is on at Riverside Plaza! Shop at participating stores and enjoy the season with us.”

Weekend event

“This weekend at Riverside Plaza: live music and kids' activities on the central atrium, Saturday and Sunday afternoon.”

Closing time

“Riverside Plaza closes in 30 minutes. Thank you for your visit, and drive safely.”

Food court

“Hungry? The Riverside Plaza food court is open on the second floor, with lunch options for every taste.”

Frequently asked questions

Do the corridors and the food court play the same radio?

Yes. Every device on your account plays the same playlists, scripts and ads, so the whole mall sounds consistent. Only instant announcements play just on the device where they are typed, which is handy for a notice that matters in one area.

Can we sell airtime to tenants?

Yes, that is your decision. Upload their spots to ad folders and schedule them by day and time.

How do we announce lost and found or an urgent notice?

Type an instant announcement and it plays right away over the music.

Our mall needs more than 15 devices. Is that possible?

Yes. Contact sales@radioindoor.com for a custom plan.
